Lachy, I think that it all comes down to personal preference.

I have some quite wide, cutaway collars by Borrelli and Barba, and they have very light interlining but are also fused. The collars are wonderfully springy and flexible and have a lovely shape and curve to them.

On the other hand, I have some cutaway, unfused collars by H&K and also by Deer Style. The H&K interlining is thicker, but not stiff, so the collars are still quite soft. The Deer Style collars have thinner interlining and are nicely springy and flexible.

On balance, I'd always tend to choose a lighter/thinner interlining over a thicker interlining as, in my experience, having a thicker but softer interlining such as H&K uses is the exception, rather than the rule, and most thicker interlining material is stiff and lifeless and so the collar neither looks nor feels very nice.

I can't fucking wait to hear Aussie accents again, even if it's just for the three months that I'm home.

where are you currently based? if it's the USA, i couldn't agree more. i have a strong distaste for their accent. it's too... imposing.

Picture tells a very different story to the outfit you describe.

Looks like grey on brown with some red :)

Step into the sunlight and snap a couple shots.

    Hi guys,

Recently discovered this forum and glad i did.

I'll be visiting Sydney in the next few weeks and was going to get stuck into finding my wedding suit.

Was wondering if anyone has ventured into the Tom Ford store and if so what are your thoughts?

    Cheers

Just a heads up, I remember a while back someone posted tailor4less.co.uk as a good place to get custom made chinos from. I got a pair of linen pants made and they were fairly terrible. Only 2cm was added to my body measurements making them fit like a pair of training Skins. Their customer service sucks aswell. Been 5 days since I've heard back from them with regards to a remake (I sent them photos of what the pants looked like on etc).

The only time I've received a response from them is when I post on their FB or Twitter. Then they are more than willing to get in contact with me. Their outsourced CS staff are clueless about tailoring aswell.

    Would not use again.
