Speaking of horse arse, Andrew McDonald has their black wingtip horse arse derbies on sale for 359$ in size 8 and 10. One of the few pair of shoes he offer on the site that doesn't look like it's been chewed up by a dog or with ridiculous toe spring.

Is toe spring a technical term because I had to think for a second about what it meant, and then it clicked, and then I LOL'd at my desk, and people looked at me funny. :D

I couldn't find it on the sale page (http://andrewmcdonald.com.au/mens-shoes/mens-sale). Could you please post a link to the page?

Why? Are you trying to spare my credit card or my eyes?

I don't know about you but I'm curious about a $359 shell shoe that sounds semi-decent based on blahman's description.

Um, no. It's a good tool if you can pay in full every month.

That's the plan :) Not sure whether to spray the buckle or not yet. The natural colour looks like it should match up well with a pair of boat shoes & wingtips I've got too.

Never any doubt that you are curious! Was just teasing.

Meanwhile, retail sales are up. Clothing, footwear and personal accessories, up 1.8 per cent.

Do not worry, he is just sensitive because he knows he has an addiction but will not admit it to the world...

I don't like the proportions, but I'm boased since I'm not a fan of derbies to begin with.

I think we've had the Andrew McDonald conversation before, but yeah it's a shame that such a good shoe maker makes such un-appealing shoes.

I've thought about taking his shoe making course and making myself a conservative type of shoe, it's a bit pricey though.

Sorry, man. That came out sounding harsh - I should have put a smiley after what I wrote. What I meant was that all his shoes I've seen are pretty unappealing so I was interested in seeing if this was to the contrary.
