Have you got them yet, because I'd be interested in the fit. I considered getting a few pairs, but was a little concerned about the fit due to past experiences with Lands End.

For light pair of pants, preppy RL/Hilfiger look:
    Light brown/tan brogues
    Brown light brown suede monks
Blue Gingham/checked shirt, light blue oxford/chambray,
Blue linen blazer/Chocolate, dark brown, burgundy blazer

Yep, got them and the fit is fine/slim (I'm a 30" waist fwiw). Leg opening is on the narrower side, which I think is good for lighter summer shoes. Slightly higher rise might be nice, but it's also fine.

Only mild point of concern is that the sand coloured pair are a little see-through. White jocks are probably a necessity :embar:

I'd probably stay away from linen pants and coat together, something just doesn't smell right. But the informality of linen lends itself to something unlined, with patch pockets for a jacket. Shoes, something with some brogueing, and suede would be my choice.

^^ One of those light cotton jackets can be alright.
One of those canvas sneakers can work with linen pants too.

i dont believe there is too many right/wrongs. but i can see variations of the following

work - id mix up the material and go with a straight navy cotton jacket with MOP buttons or a wool with texture/twill. Tobacco suede or lighter shoes. Shell plain loafers or perhaps NST. Shirts I reckon sky blues. Otherwise you can go a dark chambray or navy shirt and lighter jacket? They are quite a casual pant if very soft so id go tie-less, playful pochette.

casual - chambray shirt, bright linen popovers, L/S polo shirt, roll sleeve, plain white T with unbuttoned madras?, shoes can go adventurous with white and get some colours - Tod's colour wheel for inspiration:)

David Jones has their Jimmy Choos on clearance still. Seems like no one wants to buy them - not at their retaill price of nigh 1000 not even at the current price of 370. As supposedly well finished as they are (I do like rubbing the soles) they all suffer from a serious case of chubbies.

Was at Myer Sydney at lunchtime today and all new stock for Rhodes and Beckett is 25% off.

It's not really to my taste although their suits seem reasonable for the money?

Is the R&B 70% off sale on in Sydney? Still a couple of days to go in Melbourne, with some suits around $300-350.

Jeez guys your makig me blush :embar: Thank you though.

In Meermin MTO order news I've just been told that I can also get flush toe taps put on my pair. I'm a heavy toe roller as well, so this is indeed good news.
