Sounds like a good and sensible plan. Still hope you will change your mind on Bontoni in the future :) but hey, any quality shoes at sensible prices is still miles better than what we have at the moment.

imo, bontoni is more about looks than quality in comparison to their competitors.

there was a rather intensive discussion a while ago. actually, i forgot in which thread.

Morning gents - would any Australian Members be interested in a pair of the Herring Raleigh II in burgundy calf, size 8.5F? I ordered them during last week's sale but they're not the right size. They were a sale shoe, and I'm happy to sell them for $250 AUD, which is less than what I paid. The Herring sale shoes also don't include shoe trees, but I'll gladly give you a pair of the Herring cedar trees complimentary. PM me if interested, because I'm hoping not to have to send them back to the UK :)

Sorry mate, I am furstated with the aussie retailers. Sorry if I was been a bit aggressive. I am done with aussie retailers. Buy all my shoes clothes from online oversease store.
Also the freight cost from china to Australia is definetley cheaper than US. 90% closths available on the market are made in China. And still US charges you less for made in china cloths than aussies. Aussie stores ripped us all for a very long time. Now its payback time !

Don't suppose this was trying to park at Katrina's? Had the exact same thing happened to me parking in Lt Bourke St while going there a few weeks ago.

For some people its about Status, Connivence and Personal Service, they think that by buying from overprices stores they are demonstrating their economic power which sets them apart from the heard in terms of (perceived ) social status.

However it certainly shows that a fool and his money can be (still) easily parted.

Felt like sporting a skinny tie today in a half Windsor and no dimple.

But you realised that was a bad idea, so you put on a 3.5" with a FIH and a nice dimple?

Reminds me of this thread I read a while back over at Whirlpool. I suspect that OP had some major Freudian issues going on.

Have you ever thought that some people earn so much money that spending it doesn't phase them? I'm not one of them, but these people do exist. It's a bit like a Homeless guy laughing at me for buying a Coke Zero from David Jones, when I can buy a 2.0L bottle from the Supermarket for the same amount of money. I don't buy Coke Zero from David Jones because it makes me feel special. I buy it from there because it is convenient, and the surcharge doesn't phase me. There are people who buy clothes in the same manner.

Our Australian Members Thread has a very strong thrifty and penny pinching tone to it. It comes across in nearly every page. I recently put up For Sale a pair of Vass Shoes worn once, for around $350. I paid $750 for them new. I had multiple Australian Members PM me offering me $320, or $310 shipped. How ridiculous. I deliberately priced them below value to get rid of them quickly, and yet Members still tried to extort me for another 20-30 dollars.
