Alright folks, hit me up with your store recommendations for a tie purchase in Sydney/Melb over the next week? I've got an event next Friday night (which rules out Vanda and most other global shipping options). Looking for a green grenadine, or a navy and white striped effort.

All suggestions welcome. Thanks.

Gents, thinking of going MTM (or bespoke) for my next suit. I'm based in Perth (for some of you with a long memory I used to post on here a bit). Been researching and have come across the following options:

Institchu
Ascot Tailors
Edward McCann

I know most of you are on the East Coast, so probably a bit of a long shot on opinions on these (did a search on here and didn't find much). From what I can tell Institchu is MIC, Ascot no idea, and Edward McCann is a local tailor. Cost isn't really a constraint.

Cheers, J

Wonderful, thanks guys.
If you want to try HB I would suggest the Collins St store over the Sydney shop in O'Connell St. Much larger and it seems like a better range of ties across the two levels. Last time I visited they had a number of grenadines, not sure I've seen any in Sydney.

Yep, planning on swinging by their Collins St store later this afternoon. Anyone know how good/bad/indifferent the tie collection is at American Tailors before I hike my way over there?

They used to have Drake's ties, and one or two Italian brands. Not sure what their line-up is like now.

Can anyone remember the young suiting company what was all over Instagram a few months ago?

it wasn’t the Finery Company but had a similar feel. They had e-commerce and listed Loro piana fabrics if that helps.

I thought they were Sydney based. My mind is a sieve.

Does anyone know if chain stitch jeans hemming is available in Brisbane? Google is giving me big fat zero...

came to the thread to ask the exact thing. Had a trip down to Melbourne and bought a pair of jeans from Corlection but now decided I don’t want any cuff.

did you decide on what you wanted to do?might be able to share shipping if sending jeans interstate from Brisbane

MIC is not a bad thing. But Institchu's MTM program is considerably limited in what it can achieve.
