Of note is that people don't seem to realise that many of the runway models themselves have poor body image from all the years of being called 'sticks' and being told that we only like women with big boobs (harsh but true). They enter the industry in search of an environment where being skinny isn't a bad talking point. Also, do not want to see 'plus-sized models' ever.

What part of this don't you get:

Part of the new plan calls for more tax dollars to go to healthcare

Fat people drive up everyone's healthcare costs

More of our tax dollars will be covering this increase

Fat people mean we all pay more for healthcare both in actual costs and healthcare costs

Why not put the money into educating people that ARE overweight? Instead of trying to limit and industry that has some, but still a limited influence on people's lifestyles. I would argue that TV and movies are much more likely to influence the average citizen, then fashion.
Girls def read and follow fashion mags and draw a lot of influence from them

To a degree I agree though; there's the whole concept of supply and demand here... in film/TV people don't want to watch fat ugly people... to a degree they want to live through the characters of the stuff they watch and by making them aesthetically pleasing its easier to do so

But at the same time for stupid young chicks it really does reenforce the idea that thin is ideal and is viewed as the standard of beauty, which 1 is very unhealthy and 2 isn't even true for a lot of dudes.

That said though I am kind of tired of all these measures being taken to save people's feelings from getting hurt.... life sucks sometimes.... everyone can't be beautiful.... and beauty is an overrated attribute (especially for young women).... people need to get over it

The problem isn't chubby chicks getting butthurt over seeing better looking girls in magazines. It's the paucity of good information for chubby chicks on how to achieve better body compositions. Too many idiots think that dieting means not eating.

I'm not necessarily opposed to a little retard action. I mean, nothing sub-60 IQ, but an attractive 68 or 70 would be fine.

Victoria's Secret chicks as well I will never understand people's simultaneous claims of heterosexuality and aversions to breasts/hips/thighs/butts

Not necessarily true. There has been at least one study done showing that people with poor health habits die sooner and actually save the system money.

It's the preserving them for as long as we do that is a drain on the system. Those resources could be going towards helping people with conditions they have no control over.

We preserve healthy people as well, and they stick around longer, being a drain longer.

Eh not really Someone w/smoking induced lung cancer who gets a bunch of surgeries and dies at 45 or so after months in the hospital will cost way more than someone who lives to 100 or w/e w/o too many issues and good health habits The subsidy of people's bad life choices is the real hidden healthcare cost
