Audrey Hepburn is a paradox to me. I see her as a beautiful object but not never sexually attractive. And that photo above, while it emphasizes her profile, it also emphasizes her smoking, which is 1) corporate america-whore and 2) gross.

While I abhor smoking, my Audrey can do no wrong.

i'm with brian. she's certainly elegant, but not at all sexy, and not even that pretty in my opinion.

While I can understand what Brian's saying re: beauty/sex appeal, I would also say that Audrey's so beautiful that I don't think I'd ever *miss* the sex-appeal factor. Audrey and Grace Kelly are the REAL reason that's The Greatest Generation.

That's an amazing piece of photography LK. Do you know who shot it?

I love the picture. I must be alone in sharing LK's appreciation of the aesthetic of cigarettes. And I don't even smoke (cigarettes.)

I remember watching How to Steal A Million when I was about 12 and totaly falling in love. As for the smoking, gotta give her a pass on that, when was that picture taken '66, '67? Everybody and their mothers were sucking down a pack a day back then.

How do you feel about spending money on non-essential goods during the Covid-19 crisis?

  • I don't want to spend money at a time of economic uncertainty, even if I could afford it.

  • I feel compelled to spend to help small businesses that are struggling.

  • I reduced my budget for non-essential goods and I'm not spending at the moment.

  • Not much has changed for me and I'm still buying stuff I can't afford.
