Dear all,
Fok asked me to start up a thread for this year's holiday drive. Last year's auction was a huge success, raising over $12k for a great charity. This post from last year's thread gives you a idea of what kind of difference this money can make in someone's life:

As a father who has spent many a night at a Ronald McDonald House, I say thank you to all of you who have donated!  I donate every time I am at McDonalds and we are big contributors to our local RMcD House.  For those who have never had a child who was sick or needed surgery (mine needed 4 before he was a year old), the RMcD Houses are a God send.  I am happy to share more about our story and the stories of those we have met, but suffice it to say, the RMcD Houses do not serve just the poor, just the rich, just the sickest or ... when you need them, you absolutely  NEED them. Feel good, good people of Style Forum.

Many affiliates have donated spectacular items to this year's event. We'll be auctioning off each donation in this thread. Once the item is announced in this thread, you'll be able to bid until the auction ends, at which point the highest bidder will win the item. We'll start tomorrow with a gorgeous Calabrese bag and Drakes scarf from No Man Walks Alone.

Don't forget to subscribe to this thread so that you won't miss out on any of the auctions.

Also note that SF Affiliate LuxeSwap isn't providing just one item for the auction - ALL of their eBay auctions help our holiday cause. For all auctions ending on Dec 15 (i.e., those that will be posted on Dec 5th), LuxeSwap will donate 10% of the hammer price of each of their eBay auctions to the SF RMcDH donation.

While I wont be "auctioning" anything here, as I did last year and raised a whole bunch of money -

I am donating 10% of my final hammer price of my auctions that end on 12/15. These are my auctions that launch live this coming Thursday the 5th.

Ive also put up a banner on the landing page of my website :

Fok, if theres a different place you want me to talk about this, or if you will allow some hype in this thread, please let me know.

Last year I donated almost $2,000 from the same program - would love to beat that this year.

Spoo, that's outstanding of you. I'm editing the OP to reflect your generosity and hope it generates some extra bidding on your holiday items.

Thanks much. You best be all in the mood to buy your women Chanel, by the way.

Thanks @SpooPoker . You're awesome, man.

Tomorrow we'll start the first auction, for a Calabrese Napoli bag and a Drakes tie package, donated by @gdl203 and @Edouard of No Man Walk Alone.

Let's raise lots of money for the Ronald McDonald House.

Cheers,

Fok.

Alright everyone, here is the first auction. You are bidding on a package deal from No Man Walks Alone. The package includes this gorgeous Calabrese bag, retail value $840:

1000

AND your choice of a Drakes scarf from No Man Walks Alone's selection (retail value between $130 and $160). Personally I think I'd go with this one:

1000

Fok told me to start the bidding at $350, but that's ridiculous. I've been coveting this particular bag as well as the Drake's scarf for a while now anyway, so I'll open the bidding myself with a bid of $375. No doubt we will end much higher than that, but this will at least get us rolling.

Since this is the first auction, we'll give it a bit more time to develop. Auction will close at noon ET on Wednesday.

Happy bidding.

*sigh* it had to be that bag.

I'll get you rolling with a laughable $500.
