For those of you who know the details: what are the differences between the Satoria Attolini and the Satoria Napoli lines?

Hmm, there was a recent thread where Naturlaut and I were discussing exactly this. You might be able to find it via search.

Basically, the Sartoria Attolini's seem to have a bit more handwork and detailing than Kiton. Very very nice. The Sartorio's are equivalent in quality to a Barbera Sartoriale, as the Barbera's used to be made in the same facility. Not quite as handmade, but still extremely nice. I have pieces I love from both lines.

I'm not sure about Barbera. But I am 99% sure that Attolini manufactures its own shirts, and am positive that they produce their own suits (indeed, their suits, are, IMO, competitive in terms of handiwork, with any of the highest end Italian tailors.)

Of course, in matters sartorial, I always defer to the opinion of A. Harris.

This is what I wondered about, A Harris's reference to the Sartorio(Attolini or Napoli?) and Barbera garments being made in the same facility.

This is a revisitation of an old series of threads. To summarize (I hope): purportedly, the recent Luciano Barbera Coll. Sartoriale suits/jackets and the Sartorio Napoli (not the Sartoria Attolini) were made in the same facility, which was owned by an Attolini brother who had left the family operation (i.e. Sartoria Attolini). However, it was also sometimes asserted that the Sartorio Napoli line was a lower-price-point line owned by Attolini; whether this implies that they were made in Sartoria Attolini's own workrooms or bought in is not clear. Recently, Sartorio Napoli has been purchased by Kiton (from whomever), as mentioned on Kiton's web-site. The specifics of the current production location are not known to me. My impression is that, regardless of who owned Sartorio Napoli, it is a slightly less well made product than Sartoria Attolini and Kiton garments. However, as discussed frequently, whose construction quality is 'best' is open to debate.

To recap:

Sartorio was most definitely an Attolini line, as late as 2001,  but was bought shortly thereafter by Kiton, who claims to have moved the production in-house. The Barbera Sartoriale garments were also made in the same facility as the Sartorio's for a period. However, the latest Barbera's are not made there.

Also, the the exact match between tagging on the Sartoria Attolini line and the Sartorio Napoli line, also the obvious similarities in construction and design,  leads me to believe that it is quite possible that the Sartoria Attolini's, Sartorio Napoli's and Barbera Sartoriale's were all made under the same roof at one time

The Sartorio Napoli and Barbera Sartoriale suits are not as handmade as the Sartoria Attolini line, but are still extremely nice, top-tier suits.
