There have been a few cases where people have actually been unlucky enough to die from a KO, those are head shots though. Do you guys think it's possible to accidentally kill someone with a hard rear uppercut or straight left/right to the solar plexus or liver?

I'd say overhand right to the bridge of the nose - but yes, I do think it is possible to accidently kill someone.

i've heard from a friend of a friend that some guy, who was in their circle of friends, was at a club. For whatever reason, the bouncer was in his face (if I recall correctly, trying to herd people out). This guy thought he was being harrassed and hit the bouncer with one shot. Apparently the bouncer died and the guy went through a criminal trial and was facing jail time. Not clear what killed the bouncer (the hit itself, bouncer's head hitting the ground, combo of both). So I believe it's possible.

To the gut or liver? Maybe, but I'd imagine the shot would have to be very, very accurate.

anything can happen. usually its just being really unlucky or having issues that you dont know about leading to you dieng because of a punch. if you have a headache from sparring the day before, you really shouldnt spar until its gone. the first punch isnt the one that usually will kill you, but the second. many dont take it serious enough, but its very dangerous.

You don't die from a punch, you die if you have preexisting issues and complications. People die when they get knocked out, fall and hit their head on something. In a padded competition setting, it's more than just rare, it's never happened in an officially sanctioned MMA match.

And I'm very curious, how can you give someone a straight left... and especially right... to their liver?

I'd just add that in the case of boxing deaths, of which there have been several, it is the result of the sustained beating the fighters take over many, many rounds
