astrology? the zodiac and whatnot

any of you believe in astrology/signs? do you base potential relationships on whether or not the mystics say you'll have hot monkey sex or want to kill each other, etc.? do you use it as a gauge of your own personality? are you defined by your "sign?"

I used to think astrology was a load of tripe, but after meeting a few interesting people i'm no longer as sceptical. Stumbled across www.astro.com; the 'personal portrait' described me more accurately than what my family / best friends could.

I don't believe in astrology, horoscope, zodiac, numerology.

I used to believe this to an extent until I stumbled upon articles by James Randi (randi.org). Pseudoscience and the supernatural etc. are debunked again and again yet people still believe in things like these. It's a shame.

Astrology (or any other such pseudo-science) can be a useful tool for self examination. Anything that helps break down a complex situation into a series of symbols relating to parts of a character or feelings that are universal will make you stop and consider the situation from different perspectives and provide new insights.

You could do this with 128 (number plucked out of air) bits of paper each with some personality aspect or situation written on them. If you had a problem you wanted advise on and pulled out any 6 bits of paper and read them in relation to the problem, they would make you slow down and see you problem from different angles.

I have trouble believing in anything more 'mystical'.

It does explain why people are the way they are. Just be sure to go deeper than the sun sign. Once you get too far it's bullshit since there are too many variable, you'll start to see that everyone has apart of every sign in them.

Finding out the Earth is not the center of the universe, rather spoiled astrology for me in Grade 2.

It's all BS. Do a little research on cold reading to help you understand how people are fooled with this type of stuff.
