Does anyone else get really annoyed with MGS? I want to like it, I do, but every time I pick up an MGS title I just want to go and play splinter cell during each of the 45 minute cutscenes.

I think Gabe from Penny Arcade summed it up well:

I think Kojima is one of those developers who just goes off the deep end sometimes. He's always admitted this, and even seems to feel a bit guilty after MGS2.

Not that I am defending the long cutscenes, but you have to admit they are pretty well done. Kojima said he would be a film director if the Japanese film industry wasn't so hard to get into.
