ITT: Ask a magician about magic!

Inspired by RJMan's question from the Magic Castle thread. Any questions you guys have feel free to post.

(Yes I am really a magician. No I do not do kid's birthday parties or have a bunny.)

How do they cut the girl in half and then put her back together?

There are many methods for this old saw (har har har) some of which are very clever. The purpose of this thread isn't really to reveal secrets but if you are interested in those sorts of things I'd recommend the books of master illusion builder Jim Steinmeyer who has published some very readable books about the construction and (highly intriguing) history of tricks like these.

(sorry guys no secret methods will be revealed in this thread)

Lucky Charms.
I never liked them.
Does that mean I'm immune to magic?

Indeed. Many people would consider the sadly defunct Charvet course just this. Apprentices would get installments by mail as well as meeting with a Charvet master for critique. One would focus on classical areas of magic like the manipulation of coins, cards, hankerchiefs and cigarettes and learn the best was to hide doves in one's tuxedo (really!) There are some fine expositers of this sort of act today including Lance Burton in Vegas.

Nope. Like most magicians, Harry Potter goes right through high school a virgin while harboring a borderline unhealthy attraction for petite Asian girls.

The advertising of junk food is a remarkably powerful art in it's own right. I'd say so.

I must have missed it. I assume they were referring to FISM, which is quite a spectacle. I believe the next scheduled one was unfortunately canceled due to poor negotiations with the host country.

No. Though Will Arnett's character is unfortunately accurate to some of my contemporaries.

China, right? Do you perform in DC? When and where?

Do you use magic tricks to attract women like Mystery?
