    1. What do you wear when you preform?

    2. Do you consider David Blane a magician anymore?

At any time did you or others refer to this meeting as Magic: the gathering?
    Well played sir.
Are you a good with or a bad witch?

Still working on it. Right now the closest thing to time travel I have is to talk about music with someone like Thomas.
Do magicians get angry when you get the type of audience member who just has to know how it's done or tries to watch for the "secrets"? Would you rather not perform for those people?
This has been a definite challenge, especially earlier in my career. It took me a while to learn this: but these people do not mean trouble, often it is just there personality. I'm pretty good at dealing with them now and generally start with some ironclad foolers to set the tone before I perform any more whimsical material. I don't mind performing for these people at all- often they help keep me honest and I doubt I would be at the level I am know if it wasn't for dealing with tough crowds.

I'm just beginning to read "Hiding the Elephant" by Steinmeyer. What do you think of the book and what do you think of David Blaine?
Steinmeyer is excellent - I actually recommend him on the first page. Even someone with no real knowledge or interest in magic would find his books fascinating. It may intrigue people to know he is the creator of a lot of what people like Copperfield and Criss Angel perform. I'll get to Blaine later.
    1. What do you wear when you preform? 2. Do you consider David Blane a magician anymore?
My outfit changes a lot, but recently I've been wearing a black Paul Smith blazer with a white Valentino oxford, some slim H&M charcoal trousers and suede black Bally loafers. I usually also wear Zegna pocketsquares with some sort of bold print. Blaine is an interesting subject. I have a lot of respect for him. He genuinely came up from nothing and worked his ass off at something he loved till he became world famous at it. If that's not a sucess story I don't know what is. When it comes to magic I think he has created a unique character that suits him perfectly. It may not quite be my cup of tea but he brought a gritty, urban aesthetic to the art that seemed genuine. I find magic often lags behind the cultural zeitgeist - so Blaine performing in that style really helped magic became more relevant. What he does now is not really magic but I definitely still consider him a magician. It's almost analogous to a conceptualist artist. Jeff Koons is doing some things that just barely qualify as art, but he is still an artist.

What do you think about the Graff deck on Ellusionist? Is it a good way to start? I already have some decks like the Dekram, Invisible, Svengali (?).

How do you beat The Deck in T1?

Back when keeper was still relevant, sligh would stand a good chance against a general version. But that's like, 10 years ago.

Magician: are there any videos of you online?

It's great that you're interested in learning some magic! While I understand Ellusionist is very helpful to some people, I think there may be some better resources out there. I think the best thing for you might be vol, 1 of Giobbi's Card College. PM me for details.

Unfortunately not. I don't want to join the masses of pimply teens doing fancy cuts on a webcam but I also don't have the resources to produce anything professional.

Producing a couple decent demo videos has been on my to-do list forever and if anyone has some advice on how to do it I would definitely appreciate it.

Who is the gentleman in your avatar?

Not quite magic related - that would be Jean Pierre-Leaud, star of the French New Wave. He was a fixture of Truffaut's films and is sort of a personal style icon.

I highly recommend renting the dramatic cycle that begins with The 400 Blows, though Stolen Kisses may be a better starting point.

It's a long arduous process but it can be highly rewarding. Probably the best way to start is to find a local magic shop and go in and talk to the owner. Local magic shops are a wonderful resource for the neophyte. If you don't have one near you give Barry at Barry's Magic Shop in Rockville, MD a call. He is very knowledgeable and ships for a reasonable price. Tell him Natan sent you. 301-933-0373

He's awesome. So, so awesome. Does Ricky Jay seriously have the greatest hands within a five mile radius of a deck of cards? Why hasn't escape magic made a comeback post-Houdini? Metamorphosis doesn't count. How did Michael Ammar make his hair disappear? Do you get as bored as I do going to a magic club (or the Magic Castle) and seeing the same 50+ year-old magician performing tricks that you could mentally price tag from Penguin?

    with a white Valentino oxford,

    Dear magician,

Are you using your magic skills to keep Valentino alive and his skin particularly tanned and leathery? If so, your powers are greater than any of us can imagine and you frighten me.

(btw, I've been joking a lot with you in this thread, but I just want to say I think it's really cool that you are a magician and I have enormous respect for those who do as a profession what they love and what fascinates them. This quality is too rare these days and I'm glad to see you discussing it with us!)

Hi, are you a real magic(k)ian or only some trickster- I know that this can't be seperated that well but any hint woud be ok...also are you doing evocations and by what methods, and where do you stand incarnatively respectively what paradigm do you folllow? (do you have any clue about mutational alchemy; or/and if I would mention the Sirian Alliance and the Orion Empire/ and on this planet: the recent changes in Japan/ and previously around the Dutch-stuff? would you have any clue about those things?; alternatively would you like to talk about CM/XM or philosophy or anyhting else or are you only a stage magician?).?

    All the best, K.
