Curious about the possibilities of putting glass lenses in a half-rim frame. I feel like most places would give me a hassle about this. The frames I have in mind are fairly thin, but I have a small prescription.

Would anyone happen to know where I can get a prescription in Edmonton? Went to a place at my uni, and they'll only give out the prescription if I buy a pair of glasses.

    That's odd...just find a regular optometrist.

Nobody will do glass lenses for you in North America. Nobody uses them anymore for safety ressons. You might be able to find an old school guy that will do it for you. Most machines won't even cut it anymore.

That is a policy, not a rule. Find another Optometrist. Most will give it to you regardless if you buy there or not. I mean, you are paying for the eye exam, after all.

    Anybody know anything about Freudenhaus?

I need new glasses and these are the only ones around here that a) aren't ugly (I like a few pairs a lot actually) b) are made in Germany/Japan c) don't have any visible branding d) my insurance will cover.

Deal give aways that it is fake:

-Prada does NOT put that little name plaque on their temple tips
-Prada model numbers start with VPR, SPS, and so on

-Prada has never had this plaque, it even looks cheap

-D&G will always have the model number straight, not parallel to their temples
-LUX NEVER writes the eye size on the lens

-D&G never has a name plaque

-LUX and Safilo make their cases in CHINA! Nobody makes cases in Italy!!!

hey guys, looking for some feelings on this tom ford frame. i'm feeling they might be a bit too feminine? I wanted to hear from you. I am leaning towards the tortoise model. Any reservations?

Crystal/transparent frames (with a nice shape) are a nightmare to find. [IMG]

I don't think they are too feminine. They do raise a bit like a cat-eye shape but it's not too much I think that is a piece on their p.o.p. with a man wearing it. (If I'm not mistaken)
