Like anything else, I would say word of mouth. Find a place that you get referred to by a friend if their mother, father, cousin, brother sister, girlfriend and everyone they know goes there. Chances are there is a reason why. And don't go on suggestions like "their decor is so elegant", "they always give me a bargain", "I never paid retail prices there". Just be weary about "too good to be true" deals because chances are, that it is. Best of luck hunting!

One more question that I don't believe you've covered yet:

What are your thoughts on photochromatic (transitions and such) lenses? Tacky marketing gimmick, or useful innovation?

Does anyone have an answer for my query?

What is the best solution for somebody who wants glasses for sport?

I need solutions for the gym, running, cycling, soccer, rock climbing, ice hockey and anything I might want to try in the future.

For outdoor sports I require tinted and not tinted lenses for both sunny days and lesser weather.

I currently take part in these activities with blurred vision. I am confused by the products on the market and would appreciate any advice you have for me.

Thank you in advance

It's been covered but this thread is getting out of hand at 64 pages. hahahaha....

In a nutshell...
They have their pros and cons.
Pros:
-convenience of not having to carry sunglasses with you
-blocks out UV rays (most regular lenses do that as well)
-good for sensitive eyes

Cons:
-doesn't change colors as fast as the commercials
-after about 2 yrs, they lose some of their ability to change colors (slower)
-constantly have a slight tint in the lenses even indoors (which makes you lookk shady)
-doens't change colors in the car (unless you get Trasitions DriveWear)

So is it a gimmick or useful? Depends how you use it. If you have a bike messenger it will work great because you are in the direct sunlight going in and out of buildings. If you work in an office all day and see 1 hour of light when you are driving to work in the morning, chances are you wont see the true benefits and potential of these lenses.

I tried on these frames today by William Morris, anyone heard of it? Also, what is your opinion on the fit of the nose on this pair of glasses:

It seems theres a big gap between the nose bridge and my nose. However, as the things that protrude out of the nose bridge clamp the side of my nose and not the middle, it doesn't seem to be a problem, just not sure about the aesthetics.

The fit is acceptable. It could be better but it is much better than a lot that I have seen, There is no need and it shouldn't touch the top of your nose on the bridge. That will cause a lot of pain and discomfort. In terms of style and fit. I would say that it is good. Nothing out of the norm and seems comfortable on you.

Looking to get some Persol 2911s, but would like to get some prescription lens added, how much should the lens cost with tint/polarization?

No idea. Depends on where you buy them and your rx.

Great and terrible.

Great: because they do a good job cleaning the eyewear
Terrible: crystals and trims may fall off.

I wouldn't buy one for personal use. Clean your eyewear under warm water with dishwasher soap. Anything you use on your dishes, you can use on your glasses. Then dry it with soft paper towel. Don't buy those gimmicky things, I don't buy them and I don't sell them. They are all junk.
