Are you familiar w Rapp Optical based out of Toronto?

http://www.rappoptical.ca/

They combine acetate w titanium... quite interesting but I'm curious to hear your thoughts on quality and design.

Thanks!

Thanks a bunch!
Those look spot on. What are your thoughts on those frames?

I really like them. They are light without feeling flimsy and all over seem to be very well made. You can also get clips for them which tread the line between cool and dorky.

It's a good thing I checked this thread because I had forgotten about it. I had bought a new pair of glasses two weeks ago but ended up returning them. So, the search continues.
If Poly is not the way to go, what would you recommend? I'm sorry if this is something that's been discussed here already, but there is just way too many posts in this thread to wade through.

Would anyone be able to answer why poly is not the way to go? And what would be a better choice? I'd like to try get new glasses as soon as possible. Thanks.

If polycarbonate lenses are out, what's the alternative? I know nothing about the different types of lenses available, polycarbonate just happened to be what the doctor had ticked off on my prescription.

I had my eyes exam earlier tonight, I picked out this new glasses from salt. It looks great.

The ndg x oliver people is nice but it was too big for me. I sold mine.

Look good, probably out of my price range.

I have seen their frames. I have not had a great amount of experience with them but the styles that I saw were all very funky and crazy. If you are local to Toronto, you should go see Eyewear by Emery. He can order you custom acetate frames (well, you pick between a bunch of styles) with a large variety of colors. I believe you can get them to modify it as well.

Rapp makes custom frames too but they only make it for certain clients. I have heard of clients getting denied because they didn't or couldn't make it. And they aren't going to come cheap.
