don't make a fool out of yourself and more important do not offend the host.
Read this thread on wedding ties - http://www.styleforum.net/t/62219/wedding-ties
Some of the pics no longer work but you get the idea. Most of the ties discussed should go with the suit your describe. Like cptjeff says, make sure you don't look too somber.
I'm going to a wedding very soon and need some pointers in what kind of shirt and tie to wear!
I'll be wearing a heather grey suit, brown leather belt, and walnut strands.
I don't want anything too bold but nothing too conservative either, and prefer to keep things simple. I'm of a smaller frame (5'6 -135 lbs)
I was thinking of a window pane pattern in blue. Not sure about the tie... not too sure about anything really which is why I'm here!
For starters, read the thread I just linked to in the post above yours. Consider wearing black shoes.
ok, but patterned shirts. when did it happen.? seriously.
Why is it supposed to be so?
Unicolored shirts can be worn unisex, striped ones, even some flower patterns for casual shirts, why not dots/circles, too geometrically perfect for an edgy man?
I have a size 42r sports coat I bought before I knew how a SC should fit me. I'm actually a size 40r so I was thinking if were to wear a thicker v-neck sweater under it would it "fill out" the SC and look better on me, since the shoulders are a bit wide, or is there no hope with it?(besides B&S, since I now know its almost not worth tailoring it)
Thanks for any advice/opinions on the subject.
Can anyone recommend a pair of black/charcoal boots for less than 300 or so? Preferably side zips.
Because that's just how it's viewed. I don't make the rules, break them at your own risk is all I'm sayin.
Can i match black herringbone trousers (what the fabric looks like) to a grey cotton blazer (pic) without looking like I have no money to buy a pre-matched suit? They both fit me very well and my only concern is the different pattern.
Does anyone know what the quality is of lubiam (luigi bianchi mantova) studio suits? Are they as well made as mainline or a diffusion line? Canvassed? Thanks
edit: double post
Is something like this Ike Behar silk olive with light blue dots the right compromise of formal and not too somber?
Same here, anyone know what socks they are?
Well it's nothing like the wedding ties discussed in that thread - but it looks nice and jolly enough and it would go well with the navy herringbone, so I'd go for it, if you like it.
