Which of these ties do you think would go better with a navy suit, paired with white or possibly pale blue shirt? Suit is true navy (not blue-black, nor royal blue), small nailhead pattern.

For an interview in semi-creative field. Would welcome your picks for two favorites, and if you have reasons (also whether you think choices are better paired with pale blue or white).

The stripe seems possibly too boring, but I don't know what I think about the white paisley on the purple -- there is also this other tie I love (below), but am unsure whether it is at risk for not being contemporary enough (i.e. 70s pattern/color?). I'm also not sure whether it would go with a modern navy suit, though I don't know what other colors it would pair with.

I have a tasteful dark gray tie as a backup, just want to have a couple other options.

I would say it is ok, but I don't think I would consider the outfit "business casual".

Yeah, not a fan of any of those ties. The striped one is probably the least offensive.

TL;DR and just scrolling past that was painful eyerape. NO!

I don't tend to be too concerned about business casual. I'm generally either business, or casual, or naked. Thank you though. Will post pics. I'm building an outfit from the ground up around two pieces I have no clue what to wear with....

    easier to show.
ignore shirt, probably wont wear it with this. Suspenders/braces are a stand in for another pair that hasn't arrived yet, and may change the buttons on the SC to match the shoes I'm wearing, I hardly have any high-tan leather anything. first pic is most true to color

Also, since I value your opinion, still burn old man tie after seen in daylight? Honesty is paramount.

Well, I was asking more about the cavalry twill trousers. I am sure they would be fine. The jacket looks good, but like you said those shirts aren't great with it. Try OCBD's, and yes the tie is  especially the knot.

That's just the pants+jacket, I actually have ocbds out the ass just none fit, and the patterns and colors are wrong, and the fabric is too light in all of them, lol. Not sure what color I need, maybe a flat grey blue in a reasonably thick material. I dunno.

    Tie is getting ebayed

I'd go for charcoal as the first suit.

Also, I don't recommend online MTMs. They never come out any better than RTW.

Yes, but it's a superficial, short-term high that brings with it long-term financial ruin.

I have a BB Fitzgerald I ordered off their website. I ordered a Navy suit, it says Navy on the invoice and i'm nearly positive it said Navy on the tag on the suit (which i've since thrown out) but the more I look at this suit, the more i'm thinking it's Black and not Navy. Everything I compare it to tells me it's black.

Does anyone know if there are any specific markings or numbers that differentiate the black from navy fabrics on the fitzgerald? Does anyone have the Navy Fitzgerald and can confirm the fabric is really dark, or is yours noticeably Navy?

I may have to go down to the BB store here to compare. Not sure what their going to do though.
