Hey fine folks of MC...need your help. I have a wedding to attend in March and since it is the first such event since I've become interested in dressing correctly, I want to make sure I don't mess up.

Ditch the red socks and walnut shoes. Everything else is fine.

What are socks rules for formal occasions? Match with trousers?

There are no rules. Will just look silly. But I don't like the "fun" socks look, so I'm biased. Also, I can almost guarantee that no one else will have walnut/tan colored shoes.

I bought a new pair of Paul Stuart's tassle loafers via internet. The fit is quite comfortable, but I have kind of a heel slip when walking. The shoes don't feel big though. Are the shoes actually too big or could it also result form the shape of the heel? Can it be fixed?

Try a tongue insert or add an insole. If not, try a different size.

okay, going to try this again because its time sensitive.

I'm thinking about getting some Charles Tyrwhitt (spelling?) dress shirts/OCBD's. I like the look, and the specs sound right, the price looks good.

Is this a wise buy? I'm a bit skeptical as i've not heard the name on here before.

CT is about at the level of Brooks Brothers... nothing wrong with it at the right price.
