Black Label tends to have the slimmest fits. But it also really depends on what item you're talking about. Many Polo Ralph Lauren items fit perfectly well on slim guys as well. It just depends on the item and your body type.

In Norway we have Ralph Lauren with classic fit, custom fit and slim fit. I want the slimmest one, what is this compared to when ordering from Ralph Lauren online? And what is custom fit compared to on the US sites?

How would one be able to tell if a shirt is one-ply or two ply? I have a dress shirt from Brook Brothers, just want to know what I am getting for my money.

    leather sole shoes are SLIPPERY!
what to do? get one of those rubber sole things? ... then what's the point of having leather sole shoes in the first place?

They look nicer, can be broken in, which results in a shoe formed to your foot, are more easily wiped, can be more easily replaced, and aren't nearly as slippery after they're scuffed up a bit. And you can dance better.

Several, but not all of those advantages are preserved when you add a topy, the thin rubber sheet you're thinking of.

I thifted a suede leather jacket, it is nice and clean but I want to clean it anyways just because it is second hand. Can I throw it in the washing machine and wash it? What is the best way to clean it?

Take it to a leather cleaning specialist. Never, ever put a nice leather garment in a normal washing machine.

When wearing a suit, how far down your backside should the bottom of the jacket hit? Is there a general rule of thumb?

The jacket should completely cover your backside. Aside from that, you should be able to cup your hands under the sides of the jacket; but a word of warning: do what looks best, not what the rules dictate.

Some people look better with a slightly shorter jacket, or slightly longer depending on build and height; but I've given you the general guide.

Hi guys- I'm going to order a pair of C&J 337 Last shoes from Pedi online.

I wear a 13 medium in literally every shoe I own. Allen Edmonds, Johnson & Murphy etc.

Any familiarity with this last? Should I be looking at a UK 12 or UK12.5?

    Thanks

I'm a fairly short guy (5' 7) and as a result use a double FIH for most of my ties, as a single FIH leaves them too long. I recently bought a grenadine tie from Charles Tyrwhitt and a double FIH gives it a rather big knot.

Are there any other tie knots that would be suitable for thicker ties that would allow me to make a smaller knot while making the tie around the same length as a double FIH would?

    Quick Q about BB shirts:

I have broad shoulders and a thick/muscular build (read: not skinny) but still have a small waste.

I like slimmer shirts, but nothing TOO restrictive/tight - my initial feeling is to get the slim fit shirts as opposed to the extra slim fit.

What's the consensus? I like a clean and tailored look, but I don't want the shirt to be restrictive at all.

Question about V-neck tees for you guys:

I got a really nice royal blue A/X tee for Christmas, but the v-neck is far deeper than I have ever worn and my undershirt is about an inch above the neck of the tee. I'm a skinny guy, I guess you could say skin and bone, so it's not like I have much to show off. Should I put a plain-colored tee underneath and wear it that way? Or make a go just wearing the v-neck by itself, no undershirt?

if a ferragamo shoe does not say "STUDIO" or anything else other than the ferragamo logos
    then is it the "mainline"?

is the "mainline" the same as "lavorazione original" or is the "LO" a separate line that is better than "mainline"?

i'm trying to figure out what line these ferragamo loris shoes are and what kind of construction it has

I've seen this once, and if you can pull it off - do it.

I personally would never try that myself... but I also don't wear the deep v-necks.

If it was me, I would return it for a normal v-neck but if you really want to keep it TRY the 2 shirt thing and see how it looks.

ps: If you have chest hair (like me) do not wear a deep V

Two quick cashmere questions - thanks in advance for any help!

One: I found the below Neiman Marcus 100% cashmere made in Scotland - not really sure who would have made it. Any help would be appreciated!

Two: Anyone know anything about "Gillian Hunter Cashmere Made in Scotland?" I assume it's a designer of some sort, but I'd really like to find out who made this. No size/care tags, but it's 4-ply cashmere with really nice construction and huge MOP buttons. Definitely men's based on the buttons. Here's a photo of the label:

You'd be surprised how roomy the ESF actually are. You'll probably be ok w them.

If you were going to San Francisco for 3 days, what notable shops would be on your list to hit?

2 quick and possibly dumb questions:

    1. I just got my first pair of AE and I'd like to get a pair of cedar trees. I wear a size 10D and when I went to the AE sizing chart they recommend that I get a medium tree, however I have a pair of TBNY's and I use a large pair of cedar trees for those. Is there that much of a difference? Should I just get the large and keep quite?

    2. What is the difference between "full-toe" and "combination" cedar trees? AE offers both on their site.

    Any help would be appreciated.
