    Why are all the widths of almost all of the shoes on Pediwear wider than D? I have a narrow foot (C width) and seeking English made shoes.

    English widths aren't the same as American widths. In Crockett and Jones, for example, "E" is medium width. Not all British shoe companies use "E" for medium, though. You should email Pediwear and ask them which shoe "fittings" run narrow.

    Hi all.
    Brand new to posting on the forum, but have been watching with interest for some time.

    I have a question as I'm a tad stuck!![IMG]

    What colour v-neck sweater would you wear with each of these jackets?
    Each will mainly be worn with white or light blue Oxford shirts and blue jeans. I have fair to medium skin tone.
    1) Navy blazer
    2) Dark brown sport coat
    3) Light-Medium brown tweed sport coat

    Where is that "what's the best compliment you've received?" thread?

    Hint: searching on "compliment" doesn't bring it up.

    Hard to say without seeing the whole outfit, but how about this:

    1) Gray, beige, cream, green, brown, light blue, yellow
    2) Gray, cream, green
    3) Similar to #2

    But really, just put it on and see for yourself. Or take a picture of the whole outfit and then change the hue of the sweater in photoshop to see the ones you like.

    I'm planning on buying my first pair of Aldens pretty soon. Mostly dress in business casual during the work week, maybe bust em out with some nice jeans during the weekend. I'm in Seattle, so I'm checking out Blackbird later today. I really like these, so if they fit I plan on buying them, but should I wait around a little to scope out some alternatives? Thanks in advance!

    The one about "Any great compliments lately?" is on the front page of MC now. EZ

    I'm having a difficult time matching a tie and square to a DB suit I recently acquired. The suit is a shade of brown with faint yellow/tan, blue, and red windowpane. I'm wondering if an ecru/cream colored shirt, blue and yellow diamond pattern work with a square that is cream with yellow and navy blue. Would it be better with a light blue or white shirt rather than the ecru? Or are there any other suggestions for colored ties or squares? [IMG] Thanks
    1) Burn that tie. 2) Burn that square. 3) Burn that shirt. 4) Shave. 5) Stop tying Windsor knots. With a white or blue shirt, virtually any sold tie would look good with that suit - red, navy, burgundy, brown, hunter, etc. Navy or hunter with white dots would also be nice. And don't forget ancient madder. Find a complementary square, or just wear white linen in a TV fold. From a distance, the suit likely looks light brown, so wear any tie and square combo that would work with that. My recent attempt with a light brown: [IMG]

    How many pairs of longwings is too many? For the record, I have
    • Brown;
    • #8 shell;
    • Black; and
    • Considering adding a Navy AE MacNeil.
    Overkill?

    I have 10 pairs of half brogues in different colors since I look best with them. If you look good with longwings, get the whole board. But navy longwings is a bit... odd, imo.

    I've just bought this pair of shoes

    I normally prefer to wear jeans for all but the most smart/casual affair, but I am now thinking the colour is too light to wear with jeans. If I wear them with dark jeans it feels like I'm wearing cowboy boots!
    What do you think?

    Shoes are a bit on the lighter side, but I wear C&J Tan Cliffords with dark raw denim all the time, and it looks good. They may be a bit darker than yours, however.

    They are so light I can't even find a belt to match.

    I'm wondering if a pair of chestnut Penny Loafers would be a better bet?[IMG]
