Quick Questions. I can get a pair of John Lobb shoes that are vintage in a size 12 US for $100. Do you think I could get my money back on ebay if they did not fit right?
If they're in decent shape, yes.

I need a messenger bag for college to carry my books and other utilities. I've bought cheap messenger bags in the past and hated them; canvas bags don't keep form, tend to sag, and look almost like purses. So this time I'm willing to spend some more cash: up to $300, but preferably under $200.

I've searched through the threads and seen a lot of different recommendations, so I'm sort of in the dark. But I recently came across the Unlucky appreciation thread and noticed that he makes messenger bags for about $175. I liked what I saw in the pictures. Do you guys know anything about these bags, and how do they compare with other ones in the price range?

Oh, and by the way, what is the typically preferred size for a messenger bag? It'd be nice to have the option to fit a small laptop, but I don't want to look like a woman carrying a huge purse or something either. (I've used backpacks my whole life, so this will take some getting used to.)

I use a Fred Perry messenger bag and I like it a lot. It has one main compartment with a little zipped section indide it, as well as a flap on the outside to store things. Its been big enough to fit as much stuff as Ive ever had to since I got it about a year ago, but its not so big that its obnoxious to carry around. It looks like this.. [IMG] I actually have two of them. I have the burgandy one as well as one that is tan colored with chocolate brown edging. I think they are around $65 plus taxes but you can find them on sale for less. Gilt just sold some for fairly cheap.

I'm a noob, but I think the colors work. Not sure about the belt for that outfit. And is it me... or does the jacket look a bit too short? (Btw, where is that belt from?)

So I just found an old blazer and pocket square at a thrift store, and they go great together. Thing is, the blazer has pretty large lapels that cover a decent portion of the breast pocket - about a third to a half of the pocket square.

Should I still rock the square, and if so what fold would look best in this situation?

Pants too low + a big baggy, Jacket too short + a bit small => odd shape.

Looking for a good slim fit suit. I like J crew suits but I would rather not buy that brand for a suit. Any recommendations? Just something for every day use.

Is there at all any possible way to shrink a silk tie? The tie falls a little farther than what it should.

    Thanks.

No. You can have it remade and shortened although that is an expensive procedure. You could also tie a thicker knot.

Maybe he forgot to add a 1 to the $170. If not, Calhoun all the way.
