Hi,
I am quite clueless as to how best to wear this jacket. I have tried with a solid light blue dress shirt and a mid grey trousers. Is a necktie appropriate? Can I wear a patterned shirt with it? Is this more of a casual jacket?

IMO it's a tough jacket to put into an outfit. I could maybe see it as a suit but I am honestly not a fan of the fabric for an odd jacket. The color says formal but the texture says otherwise. It won't work with a smooth fabric (trousers or shirt)--you'll need to pair it with something with some texture or variegation. Maybe try it with a blue chambray shirt and a pair of jeans?

Ye that's my main concern. I don't really care too much about peoples opinion about what I wear, but I dont want it too look odd...

You patently do care. If you didn’t care about other people’s opinions, you wouldn’t be asking us if it looks odd to other people. After all, you’re surely not asking us if it looks odd to you.

Thanks for your response. I will try what you have recommended. This one was a gift to me so I normally would not have purchased it since it really is not my style. I think going with jeans may do. When I wore this with a plain solid light blue shirt, the jacket and the shirt clashed.

When choosing a belt size, what hole should I be aiming for ideally?
I seem to be between sizes, with my options being: either the second hole or the second-to-last hole. Which of these should I choose, or should I be looking for a different belt?

Aim for whichever hole is most comfortable, holds up your pants, and doesn't strain the belt material?

Sell it, and buy one that is men's.

Let me explain more clearly: I am choosing between two sizes. Should I go with belt that fits me by using the second hole, or should I go with the belt that fits me by using the second-to-last hole?

Are you more likely to get fatter or thinner?

My current shoe collection includes a pair of black captoe oxfords, a brown captoe oxford, burgundy double monks, and a pair of polo suede penny loafers. What type of shoe should I pick up next? I'm only wearing suits occasionally and lean towards a smart casual most of the time.
