There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

You may regret coming down quite so strongly on this side of the issue.

I find it's particularly bad, often, with full spread collars, when it looks to by vomiting from under the collar, rather than running cleanly from the knot. Either way, I agree this isn't a rule, just a matter of what looks better. That, of course, is a matter of opinion.

Yeah, well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Attitude trumps class on SF, yet again.

How versatile would a light brown herringbone jacket be? Could it work with dark grey trousers?

    Something like this:

Living and working in San Francisco, CA and am shopping around for two new suits. Anyone have ~5 recommendations for where I should go? Thank you.
Edit: Would look for something sub $1,500 all in.

QUESTION: I am looking for advice on best place to get a slim fit suit quickly. I am 6 foot 165lbs and am needing a new suit for an event in roughly 6 days. So I am not really sure that is going to give me much time for tailoring, unfortunately. It is for a business environment.

The city which I reside has a few of the major names in regards to retail locations. Men's Wearhouse, Jos A Bank, Dillards, Express, Banana Republic, etc. I'd like to keep it under $500 if possible. But the slim fit of the suit is the most important at this point. For reference, I wear a small in the express 1mx extra slim fit shirts.

Any advice you all might have would be great. Thanks.

Complete nonsense. Avoid any tie knot other than 4 in hand irrespective of shirt collar. If you were to use a fuller knot (again , don't) then a cutaway might be more appropriate but not the other way around. Any normal tie will tie a knot large enough for a cutaway collar.

why? When would you not use a four in hand, or more to the point when would it would be incorrect to use a fih? I can't think of any collar.

To say that the other knots are NEVER useful is incorrect. The FIH and double FIH are definitely the most versatile, but the others (pratt etc) have their place.
