I am guilty of ironing. I iron the back on a very low heat setting, very gently and quickly. Seems to work.

Suggest you try rolling tie up and leaving in a drawer for a few days, they seem to like that... :) Failing that and, I'm no expert, but you could try (very) lightly steaming it. Good luck

If you could only fit a palm, you wouldn't be able to take a deep breath. Traditional allowance in RTW is 4 inches. Skinny stuff has less. But most tailors are in the business of making conservative suits for older guys. It sounds like that's what you got. Maybe the work is bad, but without pics, there's no way to say.

Thank you for your reply. It's run by young guys, but I guess they are just used to adding inches.
Though the suits they wear themselves look skin tight.

If their typical cut is skin tight, I'd talk to them about it. You have a right to receive what you expected, assuming your expectations reflect their usual work.

It doesn't really work for me. Why does it look like a piece of "wood look" linoleum?

No - you need lighter brown

That's what I thought. Looks like I need to get a new belt.

It probably looks like linoleum because of the fluorescent lighting directly overhead, and it's still a bit oily.

Doesn't have to be perfect but try a bit closer. You will need one for each of those shoes

I use an iron, with the tie under a towel. It doesn't take much, so lightly and quickly on a low setting (most irons will have a silk setting labelled) will do it.

I don't know about that. If the pants do not have belt loops then no, you wouldn't wear a belt. However a suit with belt loops and no actual belt looks silly to me.
