My dumb, basic question of the night:

I've learned an awful lot on SF about the differences between fabrics, and how that depends on the type of weave, and the type of yarn, etc. But I still don't quite get how, at the micro level, all the little cotton fibers or wool fibers that are spun together to make thread stay that way!

I just think of how many little 1 or 2 cm cotton fibers must be bound up in a hundred-yard length of yarn. Does spinning get them all knotted up on micro-level hooks and barbs or something? What gives?

Just made a charcoal bespoke suit with classic collar.

Anyone has advice on what kind of tie to go with it? I'm thinking black or dark blue. How many inches do you guys reckon?

Am looking to spend around US$70ish.

Charcoal is a mute color. So your tie/shirt will make the statement. And any color works as long as the shirt match it (or white shirt).

Ok. Made it together with a sky blue shirt. Probably pairing with that and white.

Any idea on what decent label I can look at for a silk piece, at around US$70ish?

Thanks!
