Just to pass on something I learned here; the width of a corduroy ridge is called a 'wale'. Wales are measured by quantity per inch, so the higher the number, the narrower the stripe; a 12-wale cord has 12 'stripes' per inch, 8-wale has 8, etc.

Most corduroy used in garments is somewhere around 10-16 wale or so, but there are many variations. Cord wales are not cut into the material, but created (stitched in) during the weaving process.

Chicks dig this kinda stuff at cocktail parties, by the way. If it ever gets me laid, I'll be sure to let you guys know.

I want the LVC 505's. Cultizm and JCrew both have them for 199$.

Do coupon codes work for 'premium' stuff w/ Jcrew.

do codes/coupons exist for cultizm?

Anyone seen the Thin Finns in white floating around the Internet? Context and Villain's both have them, but not in 32".

who makes the BBBF shoes? There's a pair dropping in February that I want to get, but there's no BBBF shoes on the website and I don't really pay attention to the brand otherwise. The shoes themselves are gorgeous though.

A while back somebody reported Tricker's, but I think they may have been referring to Thom Browne main line. This thread says Alden.

Some of the Brooks Brother's shoes are made by Alden but they're stamped so and I've never heard of Black Fleece shoes being made by Alden, I'd try the guys over in MC they're probably more likely to know (they do, after all, have a thread on identifying shoe makers from their soles)

If a certain brand of shirting tends to bleed in the wash (consider for a moment, that it's not just my technique), dry cleaning would eliminate the problem, correct?

Not sure what your price range is, but you could try Alternative Apparel or even Apolis Activisim. They had similar look deeper placket henley's as far as I can recall. Context has the Apolis ones on sale at the moment too I believe.

I agree about the rubber toe on the Purcells being weird. I much prefer the classic as well.

Yes is the easy answer to the open ended question. As far as the other poster saying only thin wale being the way to go, I disagree. I have both thin and thick wale and both work well. I have a thick wale Engineered Garments cord and those things hold up to the cold weather well with their heavier weight and have a bit more rugged look that looks great with boots.
