It seems like most of the raw belts are pretty thick. You can probably get a custom one meeting your specs from lucky/unlucky. I forgot his name but he had a thread on here. His website is

What shirt/tie combo should I get for my high school formal if I want to go with either a light or dark charcoal suit?
this is my partner's dress so I'm going to have to wear a combo that goes well with this

These two images are the lighter of the two charcoal suits I've tried on with random dress shirts/ties, but I'm worried it may look too 'businessy'. Any suggestions? This is my first suit btw

Does anyone know custom jean tailor in Philadelphia area? Or online manufacturer with good expertise? I cannot find ready-to-wear jeans at retailers that match my body frame. I am tired of the cost and waiting time to tailor at cleaners and the jeans don't look natural after that.

    Thanks.

Can anyone recommend some slim-straight high-rise options (~12 inch rise and ~8 inch hem on a ~33 inch waist) for denim, chinos and wool trousers?

Posted this a few days ago in the Classic Menswear with no response, figured I'd try here.

A question about leather soles. I only have one pair of leather soled footwear, Frye boots to be exact, and I wore them for the first time the other night so soles are scratched and discolored. I was thinking of taking them to a cobbler for a topy, but was wondering if it was too late, or if not, should I clean the soles first? And if so, with what?

    Thanks

Edit: I've never really been to a cobbler before, but are there different types of topies I could pick from? Looking at pictures, I really dig Cat's Paw and similar outer soles, and while I don't wan't a full resole on a new pair of boots, are Cat's Paw type topies available?

I will be wearing a suit, I'm asking which dress shirt/tie colors that compliment my partner's dress go best with either light or dark charcoal. My apologies if this is the wrong thread.

You may or may not be interested, but it doesn't seem too difficult. I haven't tried it, but I've done some other leatherwork. It's pretty easy to work with.

Hi there. I've been desperate to find a specific polo I've seen in a video on YT. Been thinking of how I'd find out for days. I hope someone here can help me identify it.

I'm thinking of the black polo (not even sure if its a longsleeve polo or piké) that's worn under the cardigan in this video:
You can see the logo of the brand at 1:05.

Similar pieces will also be appreciated. Kinda looks like a longsleeve polo made in shirt fabrics to me.

A leather sole is supposed to be worn in the dry a couple of times to let it "grit up" so that they don't slide all over the place when it is raining. To put a rubber top on it , to me changes the dynamic of the shoe.

I don't understand why the sole being scratched by wear is a bad thing per what I mentioned above. .

At that point, a banner appears across the screen and you can't see any logo. .

Get a whatever brand of topy you can, it's fine. I prefer them since replacing them is much cheaper than resoling leather shoes.

So I can still have a topy added even though I've worn them once?

Yeah, it's not a big deal. If you want a more 'grippy' half sole, you can probably have one of those glued on as well. There are some glue on styled ones as well though I can't speak to how good they are. I have 2 on beater boots though.
