1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Where can I buy Uniqlo in Canada (Vancouver) ?

Or can I only order online? Does it all fit true to size?

you'll have more luck asking this in the j crew thread...do a search and you should find it reasonably easily. offhand though, imo, and even being a fan of j crew stuff, very little of their stuff is a good value at retail. always wait for sales unless you're in love with something.

i'd like some decent slim fitting t-shirts. I have tried hanes comfort soft (or whatever its called) and they are nice on first wear but are really thin. Id like something a little more substantial. Does anyone have any recommendations for a decent tee i can pick up? ive been looking at J. Crew's slim fits but I'm not sure.

^APC makes a nice pleated chino. Was on Mr. Porter for a time, not sure if it still is.

I think Unis has 3 colors on sale for 99 each right now. Great construction in my experience.

So Im really into Ralph Lauren's style. I really like these looks, pictured below, but I want to know what the official name of these looks are. I know people call it preppy, but what is it really called? Its like a northern east coast old money european style. Is there a certain name for it?

What are some shoes that are like these Generic Man's but in black. Basically white sole, black shoe, clean look. I already know common projects, looking for something else.

You would be better served asking your question over at the Classic Menswear side of Styleforum. By the way, that style would look very affected in almost any place l've lived/visited/roomed, so if you're going to wear that out, and not look stupid, you should probably have people in your social circle who can tell you exactly what is.

    Simple Question.
I bought a PT01 Hamptons Chino, I found these labels(?) on the waist line of the chino
    Should I remove them?

Any recommendations for good, versatile brown boots? I don't really dig the more common profiles of Alden Indy, Katahdin and Yuketen - in particular, moc toes and overly bulbous/round (a la Red Wing) toes do not appeal to me. Looking to spend up to $1200.

Here are some boots I like:
    - W+H x Dayton Service Boots: can't find these in my size! I'm a US12/EU45, 44 in CP.
    - These Guidis look amazing, but I'm worried about returning if the sizing is off. I've heard Guidi sizing isn't very predictable.

    Thank you!

What is Hipster winter coat/jacket style and/or brand that would go with a beanie? Also where would I go for a functional yet fashionable slightly hipster winter scarf?

There is a thread on the W+H service boots. You can get the boots made by Dayton but the experiences have been mixed.

    Svensson is the brand

Do I need to go a denim specialist to get selvedge denim tapered. My go-to tailor said she couldnt do it without ruining the selvedge line. Also what measurements besides leg opening would be important when tapering?
