I think chinos would be a little too casual. I would probably do a sports coat, dress shirt, trousers, and dark leather shoes.

from what i've seen/read, it seems allen edmonds are pretty standard recommendation for good dress shoes (maybe i'm wrong)
but was wondering if there are a few more manufacturer recommendations for good dress shoes. probably looking for very simple and plain black oxfords. and probably gonna try to hit up ebay to look but wanted to have a few options to check out

on initial searching, johnston murphy came up a few hits on ebay. how are they? i know cole haan seems to get a lot of flak so i'll leave those off.

It is inevitable: It's going to be too warm, so I will be wearing cream, sand, navy and black shorts this summer, but need nicer footwear than Birkenstocks or flip-flops.

What do you think of any of these?

Which of these best compliments my fair skin and chicken legs while looking more appropriate for casual wear, without resorting to the typical American look?

I think most would stay away from Johnston & Murphy too unless they are vintage. Alden, Crockett & Jones, Trickers, Alfred Sargent, to name a few.

I think they were in the past and some lines may still be but from what I am reading quality went down when they were acquired by the Prada group.

Suggestions? Saying "no to all" doesn't help without providing a suggestion.

Hey, this may not be the most fashionable jacket, but I don't have anything with my university's name on it, and out of everything the bookstore sells I like this the most. I know it's a tad big, I could perhaps get the sleeves altered.

Basically, I'm asking if I can get away with wearing it, fashion-wise. Doesn't have to be amazing, just not horrible.

    Thanks!!!
