    Oh hai guys:

Listen. I've been thinking about getting a pair of these, APC's New Standards:

    http://www.styleforum.net/products/apc-new-standard-jeans

However, the Gap now sells an identical pair of dark slim selvage jeans for less than half the price. Let's say I don't care about watching my pants change colors. Is there still a reason to grab the ridiculously priced APC's?

P.S. I swear I'm not trolling; I genuinely want to know (a) what advantages I gain for the price, so I can (b) determine whether I give a shit about them.

    Thanks .

    ^ identical? Doubtful.

If you don't want your jeans to fade, then getting raw APCs wouldn't be smart.

Thanks. I don't mind fading, it's just not a priority. Also, as a n00b who's seams have never worn out before the knees or crotch, I'm also not seeing the practical appeal of selvage. I like the look of the APCs (and other expensive-y jeans); I'm just not sure I should take the plunge... (I stress again this is not an anti-jeans-enthusiast question -- more of a money's tight, and will these really complement my current needs question) ;)

I still need a pair of navy chino shorts in my wardrobe.
Anyone know where I can find a nice one that's on final sale (sz 32)?

For those who've noticed or seen eBay listings for NDG-1 frames, please let me know whether they're legit? Thanks in advance.

The main draws of APC are:

    1) Cut
    2) Clean aesthetic
    3) Raw
    4) Fast fading contribute to excellent fades
    5) Price (not so much anymore)

It seems like you only care about (2) (5), there should be plenty of other brands that fill your need. But imo, the APC's cut is it's biggest attribute, followed by it's starchy and fast fading nature..
