i have a pair of raws that are a touch loose from wear and loss of weight

i want to shrink them a little. I was thinking of hot soaking them, then throw them in the dryer for a hot cycle

whats the best way to go about it without losing too much indigo?

    thanks in advance

What jeans are they? With the dryer you are definitely gonna lose a bunch of indigo. I would just hotsoak.

I've stuck jeans in the dryer inside out and the loss of indigo was pretty minimal. Certainly less than if I hot soaked them and let all the indigo bleed out. I just got them damp and threw them in the dryer on high. Had to do it three times with a new pair of 501 STFs.

Excuse my ignorance, but would throwing jeans in a dryer cause some loss in indigo!

    Can you rephrase this?

Where might I find a similar, summer weight, cap to the one below. Actually, where can I find the one below itself if at all possible.

Yes... inside out, and I just do a bucket soak. putting them in the machine will agitate and lose more indigo, plus if anything else is in there it'll turn blue.

I'd first just try a plain hot soak inside out in a bucket. that often shrinks them back to where they were before. If after they dry they're still too loose, then I just give 'em a flash rinse to wet and put in the hot dryer (inside out otherwise your dryer will turn blue) for more shrinkage. keep in mind hot soaking might make the length shrink too. so if I hot soak, I like to take them out, stretch them laid out or over a drying rack as they dry. give the legs a few tugs down to stretch back out lengthwise.

appreciate the help i gave the jeans a hot soak for 15 min, hung them out to dry, and threw them in the dryer for a hot cycle for 60 min there was minimal to no loss of indigo that i can see. The jeans have definitely shrunk back to the way they were when new...luckily i didnt hem them as the inseam has shrunk too question Master: with wear, are the jeans going to stretch out to pre soak measurements, i assume they will?

Sounds about right. cold soaks you can leave them in for a while but hot soaking I keep it to half hour max. I personally prefer to hot soak, let air dry, fit on to check not too tight, then quick wet and hot dryer if necessary. The short answer is "yes", they'll stretch back. But depending on the denim thickness, and think about how long it took originally, it could take a little while. Good thing too about the hem, I've been surprised by this one and my jeans that previously stacked suddenly end up "no break", plus the fading's off, so now I stretch them out by pulling the legs down before they dry. lol, "watch out for shrinkage, you must!" I'm looking for a more affordable (100 euro) alternative to APC's navy cotton peacoat. (see link)

    http://www.tresbienshop.net/en/art/a...t-darknavy.php

I'm a small guy, and would take a size XS in topman but they only seem to have trenches right now.

    Any idea where to look?

My immediate recommendation would to be to hit Uniqlo and H&M, but I don't know if either of them stock cotton peacoats right now.

Is a seersucker blazer too "old man" for someone in their early 20's?
