Not sure if this thread is still alive at all.

Was looking at this pair of N&F and they have the inseam listed as 33.5", when most N&F has a 34.5 inseam. Does anyone know if that's actually correct? Would be odd to randomly put a much shorter inseam on one fit than the others.

In theory I occasionally like to wear a vneck. I used to wear American Apparel ones. Now that they are gone, any suggestions for something w/ the same fit / feel?

Denim hemming question. Will the roping effect come back with wear on non-raw denim if you hem with chain stitch?

I bought a Naked & Famous Grey Selvedge last Nov and ended up washing it last weekend. I used the Delicate setting in my washer with tap cold water and then spread it over the cloth rack for drying. After drying I found that it is now much tighter than when I bought. I had measured it before washing and I find that there is significant shrinkage - 1 inch at thighs flat, 0.5 inches at knees flat and 1 inch from the inseam. I am wondering if this is considered normal or am I doing something wrong. I had similar shrinkage with the Uniqlo raw denim and could not wear it after the second wash. That time I thought it's the quality, but now I am thinking it's me. Any thoughts from the experts here.

yep, that's the beauty of the chainstitch. you'll most prominently notice that roping after a wash or two, as well. also, if i'm not mistaken, the union special "bulldog" is going to aid in this the most.

are they still wearable? 100% cotton pants will stretch/give quite a bit again after that first wash/soak. It's not uncommon for them to feel a little tight - they'll give.

Is there any fading on the hem since it isn't raw? If there is I would probably ask the tailor to keep the original hem. (They cut off the original hem, shorten the pants, and re-attach it)

I had the hemming done by Railcar in SoCal. Does anyone know what machine they use?

Yes, there was factory fade on the hem. Railcar just cut off the excess length and put chain stitch on it. Now it has zero fade.

They are still wearable, but I am concerned that just like the Uniqlo pant, these will become unwearable after the second wash. After the first wash, those were also wearable, but never stretched out and after the second wash became unwearable. Hope these stretch out. Honestly, I knew there will be some shrinkage, but wasn't expecting this much.
