An all-inclusive thread for fans of indie music in East Asia, Southeast Asia, or wherever that's non-US - preferably no J-pop/ K-pop ****. (shout out to dismal, aeglus, nicelynice, et.al.) Anyway, I've lost touch with the indie scene in Korea, and I've always been ignorant of non-pop music in Japan - I had an ex who was into L'arc en ciel, but that was about it. In SK I listened to a lot of punk groups like No Brain and Crying Nut, and I followed Huckleberry Finn bank in the day, but I'm wondering what good non-industry music is out there right now in SK, Japan, and elsewhere in Asia that people would recommend. The Koxx are one band I've found so far in SK - they're kind of Franz Ferdinand-derivative, but they're fun to listen to:
