Who's that Ron Rider guy he quotes? Apparently he openly contradicts the FBI, a dangerous move. You'd think he'd find someone who knows what he's talking about... It's a fun article, which is exactly how writing on clothing and dress ought to be done. The author is the fellow who stopped by Ask Andy a few months ago, I assume.
Nice article. Â
I still don't care for wingtips.
You would think....
I understand as I used to feel the exact same way. What I had always seen were the black wingtips with business suit, and it was a look I really didn't care for. However, since I've been exposed to rich brown and suede wingtips my opinion has changed dramatically.
I have a pair of Mezlans that leans toward the wingtip style, except they are slipons with tassels. Nice, but not my faves. In fact, I prefer Belvedere shoes much more than Mezlans. I have a pair of Belvedere Udines in a beautiful brown croc. Two pair of Tonos in black and brown. And, I STILL am craving those Vigotti Neals I saw at Zappos site that weren't my size. I guess I'll just never own them.
Fun article. It's curious: I have 34 pairs of dress and dress casual shoes at present and not a single wingtip among them. No particular prejudice--I've owned wingtips in the past--it's just one of those things. However, I hope to rectify this serious shortcoming among my shoddings by acquiring a pair of A-E Birminghams in chili at the next outlet sale come September.
