That's an assertion, and if it makes an atmosphere more sexually charged, work productivity probably declines. "For example, research has shown that federal employees who encountered frequent sexual harassment experienced substandard job productivity, problems with careers, and poor interpersonal relationships."Relaxed dress makes employees more creative and productive.
That's a terrific article. Just one complaint, about the end.
Anyone reminded of Generation Kill's constant mention of grooming standards?1960: John F. Kennedy
In the first televised presidential debate, Kennedy agrees to wear stage makeup, but Nixon refuses. Although radio listeners say Nixon won, TV viewers favor Kennedy -- and he goes on to win the election.
"Once the grooming standards fall, all other standards fall!"1943: George Patton
When he takes command of the demoralized II Corps in North Africa, Lt. General Patton orders soldiers to shave daily and wear neckties. Two months later, the Axis desert forces surrender.
You're making a number of assumptions here. One, that relaxed dress = more sexual dress.
It's a weaker assumption, but then maybe the dressed-down men would behave in a more harassing way. As an old survey says. Also, the assumption itself is believed by many. And two, that such clothing would be enough to increase sexual harassment cases, let alone to a point where it inhibits productivity.
