Our Nakata Hangers are now available at The Valet latest shop, which is located at 5 Picadilly Arcade. The Valet was previously on Savile Row and are considered one of the best in London for pressing, shoe care services (re-soling, polishing), garment alterations and more.

London-ers should definately drop by the store. There's plenty to check out, including suiting cloth and shoe care.

As a homage to British craft that is Savile Row, we have created this limited-edition hanger. The hanger, itself, is carved from a single block of wood.

We hired a "Wajima" master in Japan, Okagaki-san, who painstakingly fashions paint powder from scratch and then decorates the whole hanger by hand. Thus, the image of the canonical Savile Row street sign is not printed, but it is hand-painted.

This particular hanger is not for sale (but we accept custom commissions for Wajima Lacquer hangers)

I guess I missed the window to order with 20% off, huh. Shame. I was looking at it Back then but didn’t know about the 20% off. Probably would’ve pulled the trigger if I had known. Oh well. Life goes on.

Hi @jonathanS ! Yes, we had a 20% introductory offer, which, I believe, is our best pricing ever! Shame that you missed out.

However, I can say that our Styleforum offer ('SFARTERTON') is still the best offer at the moment, which is 10%.

I would like to say that I experienced the best customer service I have ever had with a brand, bar none! There was a miscommunication and they made it right X10. I'll definitely be back for more!!
@gyasih Thank you! We try our best! But, at the same time, we love interacting with fellow enthusiasts, which is why we do what we do in the first place!

We got plenty of new updates for the Styleforum community soon! We hope to be able to contribute a bit more to the community by bringing a very special expert *on board* (no pun intended!)

Those of you in the UK may know that we've recently taken over 20 Savile Row on a temporary basis. Here are some pictures of the space. Everyone is welcome!

Nice location! Who are your neighbours?
Thank you @LA Guy . We are opposite Richard James, and next to The Service!

Those suede chukka and chelsea looks good
Thank you. These are from Bridlen! 360 degree channel welted. The unlined Janus Suede is a popular one -- probably because of how comfortable they are compared to other chukka boots.

For about 3 years, I wore chukkas nearly exclusively. Easier and more comfortable than boots, but with the height that just seems good for most casual pants. (sorry, trousers) or jeans,

I have to confess that I needed to google "The Service". I thought for a moment that I had completely missed a new entry on Savile Row. I looked around on their site, and I have to say... I'm still confused as to what they are.

But their coffee does look good.

BTW, guys, I have a pair of Yearn shoes here, black wholecuts, and I think that for the price, they are really a top contender, and punch above their weight, ast least in my experience.

Of everything available right now, I think that I like these best:

Hi everybody! A couple days ago, I alluded to a new, exciting development. And so, today, I am very pleased to announce that Mr. Tim Liu of Yearn Shoemaker (@Yearn_Shoemaker) will have a more direct role on Styleforum as an Affiliate Vendor. The aim, here, is to connect the maker more directly with fellow enthusiasts on this forum in order to provide more meaningful conversations about the craft. I suspect he will be in and out of this thread, as well as the other shoe threads.

I think some of you over in the other threads know Tim. But, I can personally, say that Tim is a real, knowledgeable guy, who knows many aspects of shoemaking. In fact, I often appeal to him on various matters. Welcome!

Thanks to Fok (@LA Guy) and other members of the Styleforum team.

Over the last two years, we've developed a very specific fanbase -- very, very discerning enthusiasts in suiting and shoes. In light of this, we've worked very hard to develop some new products, which we released earlier this year.

Developing our new Shoe Trees

One of the products that we developed is our luxury shoe trees. These are beechwood, twin tubed, and are machined to have a mid-high instep, which we found more fitting for high-end shoes. We also took time to bored out a breathing hole on each of the trees to further encourage moisture absorption. After all, shoe trees have two main functions: help provide shape to the shoe during storage to reduce wrinkles and creasing; and secondly, to dry the lining of the shoes.

arterton_shoe_tree.jpg

We really liked the look of stained shoe trees to give them some aesthetic appeal. However, the problem with many stained shoe trees is that they are lacquered and thus reduce the ability of the wood to absorb moisture. In light of this fact, we finished our shoe trees with carnauba wax, which still allows for moisture to permeate in and out of the wood.

Laser Engraving

Lastly, in line with our personalization options for our Nakata hangers and garment bags, we can also personalise our shoe trees for each client.

The two colours we have now are 'Cambridge Red' and 'Dutch Estate Blue[. But we were thinking of mixing a new stain -- possibly a green or purple. Does anyone here have any thoughts on the colour?

We found that the different Savile Row houses can have vastly different preferences as to the colour and shape of hangers. I thought I would update you guys on some of the recent Nakata ones that we made up:

AUT-05 in Pure Black (Black Felt as well)

Another AUT-03 in Smoked Brown

This one was one of the hardest logos to do, as it required a really high DPI.
