Copied from my MySpace blog:
If you don't have enough reason to not buy from any of Giorgio Armani's brands, just look here. He is so damn unqualified to dismiss Savile Row it's not even funny. Bespoke tailoring is classic, it's not meant to be trendy. Furthermore, if one wanted to be trendy, all they'd have to do is have their tailor copy a style they like. I also find it very ironic that Armani is a man of a certain age who's only had a brand for three decades and is challenging an aesthetic that has been proven to be TIMELESSLY stylish and classic, not to mention an institution that has been around far, far longer than him and has inspired many of his fellow designers. So in short, you're full of ****, Giorgio. Maybe you'll make a profit knowing you've successfully attracted uninformed nouveau riche away from Savile Row. Maybe you'll get some success. But I'll know when I'm donning my Thomas Mahon suit years from now that I got a product made by hand, with care and love, and exactly how I wanted it instead of the limited selection of "fashionable" options you offer. I'm also going to look a hell of a lot better in my wedding pictures. So, dismiss the Row all you want now if it pleases your ego. What people will remember years from now is the classic institution that continues to make a quality product and how that asshole designer decided to make fun of it.

Indeed, not only did Zegna beat him to it years ago, but also he seems to forget that MTM is not Bespoke. He is simply doing an expensive and IMHO completely worthless MTM service and pretending he can compete against real bespoke. Pathetic.

I wasn't aware such a thread existed.
