Hoping for a little advice from seasoned buyers. I have only bought Canali and Zegna when getting suits in the big leagues so I have always felt pretty comforted when making the purchase.

I am getting married in March and want to get a real nice tux for the big day. I was at Neiman's in Austin today and tried on a really nice shawl collar tux by Armani Collezioni - It was the Sartorial collection. Loved the fit and the feel of the fabric, but I have always just been unsure of Armani stuff especially when it is not from the Giorgio Armani brand. This suit was made in Italy which was comforting and to be honest, the fact that Neimans had it on the floor was comforting (I was under the impression that they only carry Giorgio Armani or at least the best of the Collezioni), but the fact it's Collezioni is making me have second thoughts. Price tag seemed higher than most AC suits, which also made me think it's not junk and very high quality. Was priced @ $2795.

Any comments or experiences would be great. I'm hoping to hear that this is probably a great tuxedo and I should feel good about what I'm buying the same way I should if I were to buy a Ermenegildo Zegna suit off the floor at Neimans (Sure price may be quite high, but at least I never feel I'm getting a poor product).

Thanks all.

Having a couple Collezioni jackets, I will say they are not as good quality as the Zegna suits you already have. If you're lucky, half canvased (more likely fuzed canvassing), low-ish armholes, slightly slim lapels w/ low gorge.

Having said that, I have a few because they have a nice cut for me, clean shoulders (w/ slight roping), and their fabrics can be quite nice. At retail it is a little hard to swallow (bought mine on outlet discount).

At the end of the day, if the fit is good, and you are happy with your purchase, just enjoy your tuxedo. If you are dead set on looking for the better quality RTW option, then you will have to look elsewhere...
