Soak in your bathroom sink with a drop of detergent.

Dry cleaning is an unpleasant process using a lot of chemicals and should only be used on fabrics what wont stand up to warm water and detergent and even then should only be done when absolutely necessary.

Cotton can be safely washed using normal "wet" methods and so shouldnt ever be dry cleaned.

Over a line or do you mean by hangin them to dry on a hanger? hangin a shirt to dry on a hanger can ruin the shape over time. Dont know about a line though, thanks for the answer :)

Personally I dry them hanging on a hanger with just collar and 2nd button done up but I doubt it makes a big difference. Theory being the weight of the wet fabric will reduce the creases.

With wool and other fabrics that are prone to stretching then flat drying is the way to go.

I also dry hanging up. It doesn't ruin the shape. I never did to any of my shirts over the years.
