The Internet allows for anonymity and hence a certain level of exaggeration or fantasy as to who we really are. Sometimes its innocent and healthy, sometimes its unhealthy and sometimes its borderline pathetic. How much of what you have let on to the forum is real, how much is who you would like to be or imagine yourself and how much is outright lies. Â bear in mind that if you only have 6 pair of shoes and you knowingly and intentionaly say 7 to misrepresent who you are, while being harmless is still a non truth and should be factored in your vote. The poll is anonymous, of course and I almost made this poll "Poll only" which wouldnt allow for responses but I am curious if thoughts about who is for real and who is not goes through other peoples minds as well. IF YOU ADD A COMMENT PLEASE REFRAIN FROM POINTING FINGERS ON THIS POLL AS IT IS NOT MEANT FOR THAT.

I'm actually very nice in person, although my sense of humor can be dark and offensive. But that's just around people I know.

Anyone whose avatar is from Office Space can't be all bad.

But Alias...you should specify somewhere on your signature that the abuse portrayed in the avatar is from man to machine not man to man, as it comes accross a bit shocking and not all where present in the previous thread when you specified that your avatar is what it is. Just some advice. JJF

"What a sin. An avatar containing a man in a short sleeve shirt, and tie." -LabelKing Welcome to America label king.
No wonder GQ and the like are the way they are. Your average American Joe wearing black shoe/brown belt, short sleeve shirt/tie, 3 sizes too big potato sack suit has to start somewhere i guess.

Well, some of them probably hate their jobs. That probably doesn't help them dress any better.

I'd say I'm the real thing, but only because I have yet to conjure up a character worthy of building up from the ashes. The life around me is certainly of "corduroy and denim" variety, one I am desperately trying to escape. This forum, both with its fictitious and sometimes supernatural citizens had certainly aided the motivation to improve my dress, continue education and strife fro the life often modeled here. Whether this is a real thing or a brittle quasi-constructed fantasy, it remains a place that I can turn to, to fuel my ambitions.

I've been reading this post and replies with interest....perhaps there are some misconceptions about those who post on this forum. Despite the fact that many on this forum (to include myself) wear Brioni, Kiton, Oxxford, and Borrelli it doesn't necessarily mean we're all millionaires. All of my Brioni and Oxxford items were bought new, but far below retail prices-- which allows me the quality and luxury of an income bracket far above what it actually is, without the pricetags I'd pay in the store (at full retail, I could never maintain a wardrobe like this&#33

Yep, maybe I should take a page from Norcal's book and change my signature to "Just another poor dude, wearing Kiton suits"

What a great topic, FIHT. And thanks for your clarification, The_Foxx. My first impression on coming to this board was, "WHOA. I am WAY out of my league here." Glad to see there's a place for folks here who don't have money to burn. Come to think of it, even my nickels are hard to burn; they just sort of heat up intensely.
