I want so badly to get a brown suit.....but with my lily white complexion, blue eyes, and black hair...am afraid it just wouldn't work for me. Opinions? Can us paler guys get away with wearing brown? Or should I stick with navy and gray (yawnsville)

I am pretty pasty and I think it looks fine. Paleness is not ideal, but just wear it anyway

Yes. Use a blue shirt.

Id imagine with that complexion you could wear a black suit as well.

I personally dont really think people need to pay too much attention to the suit colors they wear except in extreme situations. It seems like a good choice in shirt can reverse a lot of clashes or lack of contrast between your suit shade and your coloring.

Just like navy and grey, there are a lot of different kinds of brown and one of them is going to be right for you. If I were you, I would try to look for a cooler brown, like a blueish brown.

Suites in brown colors do not have the formal connations of the blacks/blues/ greys. Howerer, the softened brown corlors can favor anyone's skin tones. Don't get hung up on the eye shades vs suite color. Concentrate more on the combinatins of the patternsand colors in the suit, then wear a blue shirt with contrasting tie.

Look at the Tutee postings in any fora. Lots of browns.

I have heard around the forum that "brown is for farmer." Take that for what it is worth.

I love brown when balanced. I have seen navy shoes on eBay lately that I think would be a great way to subtly offset a brown suit the same way brown shoes are refreshing with a navy suit. I think, most importantly, if you wear a brown suit, pair it with complimentary colors but not earth-tones! I like brown and purple personally. Please do not try brown and beige or brown and green unless you are supremely confident about the result. Post pictures if you find something that works please. Good luck.
