What is the general concensus on whether casual flat front washed white cotton pants are ok for men to wear in the summer....for some reason they never feel quite right unless I'm at the beach.

I don't really like the starkness/brightness of dead white, but I do like cream/off white.

That said, dead white is still a summer classic, especially in resort/tropical climes.

Classic, perfect in most occasions whether at the beach, a party, barbeque and even out to dinner. Wear them with confidence and enjoy!

Slim white cotton trousers or white jeans with a navy jacket or polo is a favorite summer combination of mine.

If summer isn't appropriate -- then there really is no time that is appropriate. Never could do the white jeans... though.

Are you talking about white linen (or cottton/linen blend) drawstring pants or stiffer white suit pants or denim?

The white linen drawstring pants are perfectly fine for outdoor activities while the white suit pants/denim are good for most occasions.

I always want them and then whenever I wear them, I see right through them. You guys don't have any issues with that? And if they are lined, it's too warm I would think...

I only wear the heavier cotton twill type stuff, so no.

Between Memorial Day and Labor Day? Why not?

Personally, I much prefer creamy or natural colored linen pants for humid and hot summer wear.

Make double sure your underwear and socks do not show through the trousers.

Yeh, I got a pair of Pal Zaleri's in white cotton and if you wear anything other than white boxers its quite obvious.

Any recommendations on socks for white pants with brown shoes? I usually wear loafers.

I prefer stone, but white is fine.

i wonder how people wear white linen pants without the undies showing through.

i would wear white cotton twill, but getting them dirty is a problem for me. i always accumulate random and unknown stains/dirt patches whenever i'm wearing white, whether i take extra caution or not.

I like white cotton trousers for summer wear with my blazers and my more summer-y sportcoats. I have one pair that verge on being a tad too diaphanous for comfort. The others are heavier twills and quite opaque. They do have the drawback of being dirt magnets, however!
