Are tie-dyed clothes only worn by hippies?

I was going to wear my Skate Rags tie-dyed jacket that I bought in 1988 but my punk rock friends told me that only hippies wear tie-dye.

I don't know whether to believe them; a lot of them only wear Lip Service jeans and thrift store tees that they have slashed with razor blades and pierced with safety pins.

Also, where is a good place to buy tie-dyed garments?

Wear what you want, but I don't find tye-dye particurally stylish.

I forget the brand, but in one of the latest emails I get from Revolve there was one company that had quite the tyedye selection oddly enough. Something about it seems so early-mid 90s Seattle Spin Doctors-esque about it. At least for me, it'll never be mainstream but always hippie.

Never seen anything stylish in tie-dye.

It's like my velvet blazer when I go gaybashin'. I swear to god they can't even see you sneaking up in broad daylight until you're right on top of them.

You thought so only because you were in some kind of psychedelic haze, you flabby degenerate.

And to the OP, no. I wore a tie-dye shirt once, and didn't even feel the slightest inclination to use patchouli (serious question - what do those hippies use that for anyway?)

i think i ate too much acid when i was younger, because all my clothes look tie dye...

that being said, im not a hippie, so you should be safe as long as it only looks tie dye to you. if it really is tie dye then pack the bowl and douse yourself with pachouli, you long hair hippie freak.

I think your friends are closeted hippies, are you sure they don't go out to hippie clubs wearing their tie dye shirts when you're not around?

I guess it depends who's wearing the tie-dye. Some people can pull it off looking nice but I think most people look weird with them =\\
I know I'd never be caught dead wearing one.

How do you match a tie-dyed garment?
