The first and third pictures make me think so, but the creases in the second photo makes me think that these are calfskin.

What do you think?

Ya, second photo does look like calf. If these are from ebay or online, you might want to post in the for sale forum "cool shoes" thread next time

Looks like calf because of the fine wrinkles, but I'm no expert.

The fineness of the creases are an indicator that they are calf leather and not cordovan.

So the consensus is that they are calfskin.

Gentlemen, please allow me to ask why the third photo looks like cordovan (due to the leather is somewhat folded as in shell cordovan, instead of creased)

Perhaps it is just me and you would still think these are calfskin even if you had seen only the third photo...

but look at the back shoe in the same area and the fineness of those creases.

the front shoe in the photo has it too, just not as noticeable with the angle

Thank you guys. I now completely agree with you. I am considering buying these anywyz. They seem to be vintage Cole Haans (pre-Nike)

Is it possible that you can confirm whether these are vintage Cole Haans from the below photos? The markings inside the shoe in the first photo of the first group of photos I posted may also give you a clue.

It would be really unusual for someone to fake Cole Haan and vintage ones at that

Well the thing is the seller does not claim that it is vintage or not. But I thought that you may understand from the markings inside the shoes, sole of the shoes et cetera whether the shoes are pre-Nike or post-Nike Cole Haans.

So what is your take gentlemen for this particular pair? Pre-Nike or post-Nike Cole Haans?

Well, they say they're made in Maine, so at any rate they are pre-third-world manufacture...
