Hello gents,

I bought some Brioni cotton pants from eHaberdasher and then did the very stupid thing of taking them to be hemmed before I had washed them (I usually only take wool pants to be hemmed). Naturally they shrunk, and now the hem looks too short to my eye. But I am not sure if this is just because I am not used to pants this short, or if it's really a problem. The pants are pretty narrow at the bottom, so they need to have a very small break, but I can't tell if they are now RL Black Label cool short or just too short. So you could look at the pics below and let me know what you think?

Thanks!

The last one is the one that bothers me most - the way the pants hang off the back of my ankle like that. What do you all think?

You are probably standing with your knees locked and thats why they are sitting so far back, if you stand a little looser they might not sit so far back. That being said they are a little short but not so short you can't get away with them.

the fact that the opening at the bottom of the pants is a little wide, it makes it look short.

if the opening was taken in, it would look just right.

the length, however, looks fine to me.

I think it looks goofy when a guy's showing off his socks whenever he moves his legs.

You could probably have someone bring the hem down a little.

They're not outrageously short, but I probably wouldn't wear them at that height. Have you pressed them yet? They may appear slightly longer if creases disappear.

Anyway, more fundamentally, it's not a question of whether we think they're too short but whether you want to wear them at that height. They're not so short that you definitely shouldn't, if that's what you're asking.

OK, enough italicised text in one post....

I think I am in the distinct minority here, but I actually like my pants slightly shorter than that.

They're a bit shorter than ideal, but they're fine.

As you can see, half says yes and half says no.

Pants length is up to you. If you got the confidence.
