I don't know how you can conclude that about the materials and construction based on the pictures, but Koji Suzuki certainly is on my short list of bespoke makers I'd like to try. They are beautiful shoes.

He is without a doubt my favorite last maker, I think T4 is on his waiting list which last time I checked was about 2 years. If anyone has updated info let me know...lately I've been thinking about taking a trip to see him.

Wouldn't any list of bespoke cordwainers be pretty short?

It seems like everything from the construction to materials is of better quality.

His bespoke shoe retails at NZD2500 - approx. USD 1525.00.

His suits & shirts & materials seems very reasonable and I might get in touch with him. His shoes are excellent and at that price - we'll be looking at superior quality shoes for sure.

No, not yet.

I've asked my friendly neighbourhood Japanese bookstore owner to email him for me!

How do you feel about spending money on non-essential goods during the Covid-19 crisis?

  • I don't want to spend money at a time of economic uncertainty, even if I could afford it.

  • I feel compelled to spend to help small businesses that are struggling.

  • I reduced my budget for non-essential goods and I'm not spending at the moment.

  • Not much has changed for me and I'm still buying stuff I can't afford.
