Since there are MTM suits, I'm just wondering if there are any MTM overcoats/topcoats. If so, which companies are doing it? Thanks!

I imagine Mr. Ned, LS Clothing, etc. would also be able to measure up and make a coat for you. It's not a lot different than making a suit jacket.

The itinerant tailoring firm WW Chan will make overcoats. Many consider them high-end MTM rather than true custom.

Burberry has an MTM service, "The Art of the Trench."

I am not sure why this idea persists. Chan is true custom if that is what you ask of them (and for no additional cost). I have had suits made by them to my specifications with multiple fittings (3). I am sure that they would have entertained more fittings if I required them.

That's only for their trench coats according to their website.

For a given maker, the labor cost and fabric requirements are generally pretty similar for an overcoat or a suit. In other words, if an MTM Oxxford suit is $3k, an MTM Oxxford overcoat will probably be about the same amount.

When I requested a fitting, Patrick discouraged it, hence my statement (On the second jacket, however, the fit seems excellent to me). $1500 is also the price I've heard quoted for a cashmere overcoat from Chan.

That seems like an amazing price.

I went to Ralph Lauren today and they told me to expect to pay about $2000 for a Polo Ralph Lauren MTM coat. Is it worth it or I should seriously look at WW chan?

Well I guess that's a good reason. On my last suit, I had him make it up based on my last order and then bring it on tour for a fitting.

Yes, you should seriously consider Chan. My Chan overcoat is very nice, everything that I couldn't find RTW. I would also suggest going with a wool/cashmere blend for durability and lower cost unless you just have money to burn. A good wool/cashmere blend feels almost as nice as pure cashmere but lasts longer and costs a lot less.
