Hi, I'm currently watching an eBay listing for a pair of AE Park Avenue's and I am wondering if there is such a thing as fakes for these shoes. On all the pairs of these shoes I have seen, the inside of the shoe insole I think it is called, is tan or brown colored....but in the one that I'm watching, the insole is black. Is this something I should be concerned with? Is it fake? Or does AE change the color depending on when they made them.

I have AE's with both tan and black insoles, nothing to be concerned about... I *think* that the black insoles are newer, but I could be wrong on that.

The newer models have black insoles, such as the 0 last models like Soho, Bel Air, etc.

The black insole I think is new.

Seems like everyone is saying its ok, so that makes it easier for me lol. Those are the pics of the insole though just for verification's sake.

I just bought a pair of AE cordovan loafers and they have a black insole. It's the only pair of AE's I have that have the black insoles.

Yes th newer ones have the black insoles. Im really not a fan of the black insoles, they feel cheap and almost like hard plastic.

Yeah they don't have the softer feel of the lighter colored ones. Also they seem to be more likely to have the prongs of death (my name for those 2 sets of 2 objects that stick up from the insole).
